This week at KIconcerts

• attended the Midwest Clinic for Bands and Orchestras in Chicago to catch up with many Directors planning their next international concert tours
• finalized arrangements for groups traveling between Christmas and New Year including singing Mass at St Peter's Basilica, Rome and singing at Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
• finalized arrangements for the January performance tour of India
• developed new concert opportunities in South America, principally Peru and Argentina.

We watched in horror as the tragic events in Newtown, CT unfolded and never felt prouder of our colleagues in education and youth music!

Happy holidays and may there be peace in abundance for humanity to share in 2013

This Week at KI - 1 December 2012

We know it has been another busy week for our Directors, especially those with choral programs as they stage their holiday season concerts.

At KI we focused on:

• Visits to Minneapolis and through Wisconsin to meet choral and instrumental directors
• Hosting our Indian partner for a meeting with the University of St. Thomas Wind Symphony as they prepare for their January concert tour of India
• Building interest in the Bavarian Youth Music Festival
• Confirming the Southern Connecticut State University choir’s attendance at the Craig Hella Johnson Barcelona Festival, New Year’s 2013
• Publicizing the USA Australia Band Festival being held on the West Coast in 2014

And we celebrated the news of the impending birth of a baby boy to one of our great Italian partners.

One of the great musical thrills is performing in a truly awe inspiring venue. For instance singing at St Peter’s Basilica, Westminster Abbey, Sagrada Familia or Notre Dame Cathedral is a moment frozen in time. Many ensembles request an electric keyboard – 88 weighted keys of course. You can even plan to perform with a chamber or full orchestra.
